I applied cold, no referral. First, a 15 min Phone Call with HR to check basic info. Then, a 30 min Hiring Manager interview where they asked questions based on my resume and experience. Lastly, a 1.5-hour Team Interview with 3 different team members.

Behavioral Coding Technical

Started with a 30 min phone chat that was mostly HR stuff. Then there was an online coding test that lasted an hour, usually in Java, but they might let you use a different language if the hiring manager approves. If that went well, the on-site interview focused on technical skills.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you explain how you approached the online coding questions?
  • Describe your process for debugging a customer issue.

Technical Coding

I had a recruiter phone call, then a manager phone call. After that, a timed online coding test. Then, an in-person "tech check" to ensure I didn't cheat on the test. Following that, I went in person again for a long interview, about 5 hours. This interview was mostly whiteboard coding and technical questions, like textbook CS problems, not many questions about my experience or resume. It felt geared towards new grads, not experienced people, and didn't touch on test engineering skills. They seem to not know how to hire effectively, and the whole process is very strange and time-consuming, requiring candidates to come in twice.
