So I had this really wild interview with a TA. She actually waited until we were on the video call to tell me the job I applied for was already filled. Then she asked if I'd consider a DIFFERENT role. When I said I needed some time to think, she gave me only the rest of the day to decide and then rushed off the call, which was super short, like under 10 mins total. I emailed her later to say thanks but that role wasn't for me and I'd withdraw, but she never wrote back.

The hiring process was super long, running from November 2021 to February 2022, and it ended really badly and suddenly. I applied through a referral and first talked to a recruiter, which went really well. Then, I had my first interview with the hiring manager, and we talked for 40 minutes longer than scheduled because it went so great. After that, I spoke with HR to arrange the next four interviews: a second interview with a different sales manager, which also went great. The third interview was with the sales consultant who would be training me; this also went super well, and they even said they couldn't wait to train me. The fourth interview was a quick 15-minute chat with my potential manager about the office location, followed by the final interview with the VP. Then, I waited three weeks with no response to my emails. Suddenly, my potential manager called to say they could only offer $20k less than what they initially mentioned and asked if I was still interested, to which I said yes. A week later, the recruiter called to say they couldn't justify hiring me. I emailed HR and my future manager to thank them and ask for feedback on how I could improve, but I never heard back. It was a pretty disappointing end after such a positive start.

So there were five stages to this interview. A recruiter reached out, and then I had a phone interview with the Regional Sales Director. After that, I met with the same person again, and this part was about giving me the lowdown on Trend and going over my CV. The third and fourth rounds were phone calls with the CEO and another sales boss from the Sydney office, mainly asking about the sales process and asking me for examples of when I'd succeeded before. The last interview was an in-person 'final round' with the CEO and Sales Director, and it was more about sales stuff and my approach.
