It was a 1 hour 30 minute interview with two parts. First, I had to give a 10-15 minute presentation on a technical project I had done before. Then, there was a competency-based interview focusing on TfL values (which they told me about beforehand) and some technical questions related to the job description.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Tell me about a time you demonstrated "Commercial Thinking" according to TfL values.
  • Can you answer some technical questions about the role based on the job description?

Behavioral Technical

So the interview kicks off with the usual stuff: tell us about yourself, why you're here and why this job. Then, it's a competency-based thing with four questions, each hitting a specific skill like leadership, working with others, and driving results. For each of these, you get about 8-10 minutes to talk about a time you did something that shows you have that skill. After that, there were two more 'technical' questions where they wanted to know how you'd handle a certain scenario and how you'd think it through. To wrap it up, they asked the standard questions about salary expectations and such.

Confirmed questions8 questions
  • Can you share a summary of your professional background?
  • Please elaborate on your motivations for applying to this company and this specific role.
  • Could you share an experience that showcases your leadership abilities?
