It was a pretty long interview process. I got through the first round, which had basic behavioral questions along with some technical ones, including math and probability. The second round also included options questions and math problems. Unfortunately, I was rejected in the second round.

Four rounds - screen, technical, fit, office. The first round was primarily math, logic, basic questions about why you want to be a trader. Second round was highly technical based on the material found in the John C. Hull textbook. Third round more fit. Fourth round at their office, meet everyone, convince them they want to work with you.

TMG has very specific internships focused on certain areas, which is what drew me to the company. I applied online and was surprised by how quickly I heard back. They told me the interview process would start with two programming exams. Exam 1 had 7 questions and could be written in Java, C++, or C#. Exam 2 had 1 question and needed to be written in C++. After submitting and waiting for the review of both exams, I had a phone interview. They really wanted Exam 1 done as quickly as possible and would take the time taken into account during their review. Since this was my first exam-like interview, it took me longer than I'd hoped. All the questions were fair, but definitely tough, especially with the time limit. Exam 2 was pretty fun and a logic puzzle. I don't have much C++ experience, so writing 250-500 lines of code in C++ from scratch was good practice on its own. For instance, if I had done Exam 2 in another language, I might have chosen a different data structure than the one I ended up using in C++. I decided to play it safe.
