First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TRANSFR.
Account Executive
I went through seven interviews. It turned out they were originally looking to replace someone not hitting their quota, but that person ended up improving. They told me they liked me, but instead of being upfront, they made me wait for months with no answer. This was tough because I'd just been laid off and couldn't afford to pass up any chances, even if they weren't ideal. It felt like they knew I was in a bind and used it to their advantage.
- Tell me about how you'd manage your assigned territory.
- What are your thoughts on handling similar areas of responsibility?
Sales Development Representative
We'll be looking at how you research and get to know a sales territory, like finding the main companies, job titles, and what problems Transfr can help with. Also, we want to see if you know your KPIs and how you hit them to make good connections for your sales manager. Since many jobs are remote, you gotta show us you can manage your time well, set priorities, and get stuff done. We'll also ask about how you set and reach your goals, both KPI ones and others. Lastly, your communication skills are super important for talking to team members and clients, so show us you're good at talking and writing.
- What's your method for learning about a new sales territory, and can you share an instance where you pinpointed key companies and decision-makers?
- Tell me about a time you found and fixed a client's issue using your company's offerings. What was your process?
- How do you make sure the contacts you generate are valuable for your sales manager and the company?
Customer Success Manager
My interview was going great and was just about finished when someone, who was invited to the meeting popped in at the last minute. My 30 minute scheduled meeting turned into an hour long meeting where I answered the same questions twice, though the second person who showed up late seemed irritated and clearly wasn’t having a good day. For someone who has been tasked to find talented individuals for customer facing roles, I would have expected a more professional and pleasant interaction. I was not pleased with the irritation the interviewer seemed to be expressing towards me, even after showing up 30 minutes late to a 30 minute scheduled interview.
- Can you walk me through your background and professional history?
IT Help Desk Analyst
I went through a pretty long interview process with Transfr VR for an IT Helpdesk Analyst job. It started with a recruiting call, then I met with the hiring manager, the HR leader, some of the team, and a customer support person. Everything went really well, and I felt like I really clicked with the team and what the company is all about. Everyone seemed super into it and engaging, and I honestly thought I had a good shot. Transfr VR seems like a cool place to work, with a team that's really passionate and comes up with new ideas. But, after my last interview, things went quiet for a while. I had to chase the recruiter for an update and then found out they closed the position because of a headcount change. That was a big surprise and a bummer after putting in weeks and a lot of hours into interviewing. I get that business needs can shift, but I was annoyed that they didn't tell me proactively. It would've been more polite and professional to let candidates know about the change sooner instead of making me chase them. I'd be open to other roles there but would be hesitant to trust their hiring intentions were real.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to fix a difficult technical issue?
