You create an account and they give you a Style Guide to use during the exam. Read the guide carefully. The exam is difficult and you get 2 attempts. You must pass 10 grammar questions with 100% and then complete 3 projects with an 88% or better to pass each. I passed and got the job, but the job was insanely difficult. I spent 3 hours on it and made $3.50. A lot of time was spent refreshing the page because there were no available jobs, downloading software to hear the audio, editing the audio, and then completing each task. One job was rejected because the QA wanted periods instead of commas and I was rejected even though I followed the Style Guide.

I signed up with Google but created a customer account instead of a transcriptionist account. I immediately made a new account with my other email for the transcriptionist role. Big mistake! I studied for 6 hours and passed exams in both French and English. After waiting a day, they said they detected 'fraudulent activity' and banned me for life. They claimed it's against the rules to have two accounts, even though I never used the first one. They suggested I could have cheated. They lied about the rules, as the FAQ doesn't mention this ban risk. When I explained my mistake, they refused to consider it and stuck to their fraud claim. Avoid this company; they don't value your time and overreact to mistakes. Check Reddit for similar horror stories.

There was a lot of reading material before starting the exam, which I handled. The exam itself was the next step. The first audio was 6 minutes long and took me a while to get through, but I felt good about it. I used the guide for reference as much as I needed and did the required research on names and so on. I easily passed the true/false questions. Then they asked me to transcribe TWO MORE 6-minute audios! I mean, it would be fine if this is what it takes to get into this field, but when I saw my scores (which ended in failure with 72%/80%/95%), I was shocked that I couldn't see where I made mistakes. There's just TOO much specific information in the handbook to have to constantly go back and forth to figure out exactly what formatting I got wrong. It would be even better if it gave me feedback so I could improve on the next try. But since I wasted about 2.5 hours of my time, I probably won't try this again.

The interview is an online exam. You get two attempts, and 2 chances per exam, so you have a total of 4 chances to pass. You must pass the questions (10) at 100%, and the transcription piece must be at least 87-88% for each one to pass. Once you pass the exam, you will receive an email once your account is activated and you can immediately go to the workhub and begin transcribing.
