First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TransCore.
Software Engineer
They asked me about my AI experience and my experience with Prompt engineering. The interviews had two rounds. First was an HR phone screening, and the second was more technical, but no coding tests were involved.
- What's your experience with Prompt engineering?
- Tell me about your AI experience.
System Administrator
The interview will focus on server-side setup on premises, involving configuring and maintaining hardware, operating systems, and local network environments. Be ready to chat about common troubleshooting scenarios, how to optimize system performance, and your experience with backup and recovery procedures. They also want to see if you know command-line tools, server security best practices, and have some basic scripting knowledge. Showing you have hands-on experience and can adapt to different system architectures will be good.
- Could you outline the process of setting up a new on-premises server from the ground up, detailing the networking and security configurations involved?
Test Technician
I was first contacted by a recruiter by phone and email, and we set up a video call for the next day. On day 2, I had the video call and expressed my interest. The recruiter then asked for my information to send to TransCore. After a while, on day 13, I interviewed with some people from TransCore. I got an offer, but it was conditional on a background check and drug test. They also gave me some company info and payroll stuff. I did all the paperwork and got the background check started. On day 16, I took the drug test. By day 23, I got the results for both the drug test and background check, plus details for my first day. Day 26 was my first day at TransCore. It was a pretty smooth process overall; I knew what to expect. This was for a contractor role. The only reason it took so long was due to my previous jobs needing verification, which unnecessarily dragged out the process. Honestly, neither TransCore nor the recruiter could have sped it up.
- Can you tell me what TransCore does?
- Do you have experience related to this role?
Help Desk Analyst
The hiring process was pretty straightforward. It started with a phone call, and we chatted for about an hour. Then, they invited me for an in-person interview where they asked me about my background, some IT-related stuff, and a few technique questions. Overall, the interview went smoothly, and I felt pretty comfortable throughout.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- Do you have experience with IT?
- Can you explain some techniques you know?
