Transamerica was building a new business unit for Annuity New Business aimed at high-end agents. There were 18 Case Manager roles, 2 Team Leader, and 1 Supervisor opening. The recruiter put me in for an interview. I went through a group interview and was rejected five hours later. The positions kept getting posted, so I reapplied. I also applied for a Life NB Case Manager position but got no response, even though I'm a better fit for Life Case Management with my past manager experience. If they're looking for people with 0-2 years of experience to pay them $40K, then interviewing me was pointless. Thankfully, the recruiter was compassionate enough to keep me informed, though I got the official rejection from Transamerica about 30 minutes before the recruiter's update. Remember, there were 18 Annuity Case Management jobs. I now understand corporate investment in employees better, but if skills are teachable or acquired passively, job postings should be more accurate.

Behavioral Technical

This was my second time applying for a similar role in just two months. The first time, I applied online and got a phone screen with HR. They said I'd meet the hiring manager right after, but five days later, I was told they chose an internal candidate and the position was withdrawn. For the second application, also online, I had another phone screen with the same HR person. This time, they assured me they were looking for an external hire. I then interviewed with the hiring manager on 07-20-15. They mentioned a decision would be made in two weeks, but three weeks passed, and I was again informed they went with an internal candidate. It felt like a significant waste of time for everyone involved.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

So there were two phone interviews, a screener and then an intro, followed by a half day where I met the whole team and senior management from other departments. It was a new role being created, so the questions were mostly about my experience, interpersonal stuff, and background, not super technical. The only technical questions were about Excel and came from the data analysis person. Everyone was nice and friendly.
