Customer Service Representative
I was interviewing for a Customer Service Representative role for some life insurance product they're looking to phase out. The initial screening was fast and straightforward. The two interviewers were pleasant. I sent a thank you email after the interview, and the HR representative mentioned he'd pass it along to the hiring team and expected a quick decision. His reply was on 08/09/23, and the job started on 08/28/23. It's baffling how companies can just ghost candidates they don't hire.
- Tell me about a time when you faced a situation.
- Can you provide an example of a time you handled a difficult customer?
Customer Service Representative
I applied online and then a recruiter reached out. We scheduled a phone interview that lasted around an hour. They asked a lot about my past experience and background, including some behavioral questions like 'tell me about a time...'. After that, I had to complete 4 online assessments, one of which was a mock customer service call. Finally, I was invited for an onsite panel interview. The company's communication has been great and professional throughout.
- Tell me about a time you went above and beyond to help a customer.
Customer Service Representative
It was a really straightforward interview. The interviewer was very warm and friendly, likely due to her southern background, even though the job was on the East Coast. The main thing they're looking for is to see if you can be empathetic, handle conflicts well, and show that you're engaged and actively listening. It's good to have some examples of how you'd handle different scenarios ready.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Describe a time you handled a difficult customer situation.
- Tell me about a time you followed protocol to resolve an issue and what happened as a result.
