First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Transamerica.
Actuary Intern
The whole process was really simple. First, I had a call with the campus recruiter. After that, I had two more interviews with actuaries from Transamerica. It was more about my experience than hard technical stuff.
- What makes you want to pursue a career as an actuary?
Actuarial
I applied online and the whole thing took about 4 weeks. The first two were phone interviews and then the third one was an onsite visit. Most of the questions were behavioral, but some were technical.
- Can you tell me about your weakness?
Actuarial
They came to my campus for the first interview. After that, they invited about 30 candidates to Cedar Rapids for an onsite interview. We ate lunch with the interviewers, did some team building, and then had 2 30-minute interviews. It was pretty chill, the interviewers were nice and didn't try to trick us. They just wanted to see how we act in different situations. About half the people who got an onsite got an offer.
- Tell me about a time you juggled multiple projects and how you managed your time.
