Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Transamerica.
Accountant
I interviewed with a panel of 5 managers who work with Agent's Commission payments. They needed someone to help with their current workload because they have a deadline to meet. The position is a 5-month contract.
- What is your comfort level with Excel and running queries?
Tax Accountant
The initial phone interview went well. Later, I checked in with HR about the job, but they were unaware of the hiring manager's progress and didn't try to find out. My application was then withdrawn, and the position was re-posted. This was really unprofessional, especially from a company I thought would be full of professionals.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Staff Accountant
I had a couple of interviews with team leaders. It was a good chat and I felt it went pretty well. Sadly, I didn't get the job, but I've always heard amazing things about this company!
- Could you describe your background in accounting?
