Technical Sales
I connected with a recruiter at my school's career fair and surprisingly got an email a couple months later asking for an interview. Before the phone interview, I had to complete a short questionnaire that included questions about how I found out about the company, what drew me to the company, what appealed to me about a sales role, and a fun fact about myself. The phone interview time that was initially scheduled got changed on me last minute to five days later. I prepared for it like a full interview, but was told at the start of the call that it was just a phone screening and would only be half an hour. The recruiter asked me questions for the first 15 minutes, and then I had 15 minutes to ask questions. If I moved forward, the next interview would be in the office three weeks later. I was told I'd know by the end of the week if I was selected to move on. I never heard back.

Inside Sales Specialist
The interview process was very structured and by the book. Before the interview, I got great information from corporate about what to expect, like it would be a panel interview, with behavioral questions, lasting 90 minutes, and I'd know who was interviewing me. It ended up being 3 people interviewing me, not 2. Each person asked about 10 predetermined behavioral questions from a corporate list. They seemed bored sometimes and other times laughing, but always taking notes, which was a bit unsettling. It was a draining 90 minutes, constantly having to recall past experiences (stories) to answer their questions. They seemed understanding and appreciative, though. I never felt like they fully grasped my background or skills. I wish it had felt more personal and less like a corporate script.
- Could you share an instance where you put in extra effort to assist a customer? What happened as a result?
- Describe a situation where you went above and beyond for a customer and the outcomes.
- Tell me about a time you exceeded customer expectations and the results.
Technical Sales
It was a great process! I first met the recruiter at the career fair. Then I moved to a HIrevue interview where they asked questions like "Tell me about a time where you had to make a connection." After that, I had a meeting with the hiring manager, and the final round was a meeting with a panel of people I would be working with. I really enjoyed the interview; it is an amazing company!
- Can you describe a situation where you had to present a challenging idea to someone?
- Share an instance where you had to establish a significant connection.
- Explain your approach to selling.
