First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Trane Technologies.
Manufacturing Engineer
So first, there was a 30 min phone chat with HR. Then, a 45 min interview with the team lead. After that, I went on-site for what was about a 5.5 hr session. This included an introduction to Trane's history, a tour of the building, and then a 90 min STAR interview with a panel of 3 people. We also toured the plant, had lunch with some engineering managers, and then a final wrap-up session.
- Tell me about a time you successfully convinced someone to agree with your perspective. What steps did you take, and what was the result?
Manufacturing Engineer
Started with a recruiter phone screen to see if I was interested, then had another phone screen. Before the final interview, I chatted briefly with the co-op supervisor to sort out any questions. The final interview was with the co-op supervisor, the principal engineer for controls, and the senior engineer for AMRs. They asked about my resume, some personal/cultural stuff, mostly behavioral questions. They seemed really into the co-op program and were super helpful.
- Can you explain what object oriented programming means to you?
- What makes you want to work for Trane Technologies?
- Tell me about the most challenging project you've encountered.
Manufacturing Engineer
It was a really drawn-out and frustrating process. There were like 5 phone calls and 3 different recruiters involved, plus one onsite interview. Apparently, I had to reapply because the first recruiter had my info down for the wrong role? After 3 whole months, I got an email saying the job was no longer available.
- Can you share an instance of a challenging situation you encountered and how you addressed it?
- Could you describe a specific scenario and your actions within it?
- Walk me through a time you were involved in a project. What did you do?
