I first talked to the recruiter at my school's career fair. A few weeks later, I got an email saying I was a preferred interview candidate and could pick a time to interview. The first interview was a group interview with about 6-7 people. We were given a hypothetical situation about breaking into new markets in underdeveloped parts of the world. Each position had a project with a cost. This group interview had people from different majors applying for different positions. We had a limited time to decide which projects were worth the money to meet the budget. Your job was to try and "protect" your project while also helping the group make the best decision. After that, I had a personal interview with two engineers. It was pretty standard, all behavior-based questions like "Tell me a time when".$ They want to see that you have leadership qualities and have not only had responsibilities but have met them with success. About a week later, I was invited for a second round interview on-site at their Bloomington Thermo King plant. This was another interview with behavior-based questions, with three current engineers and one HR person. The whole interview process was handled very well and everyone was nice and welcoming.

First there was a phone interview, then an interview on Microsoft Teams, and finally a panel interview with the entire team, which included about five other people. They asked me to talk about myself and go over my resume and projects. At the end, they asked about what I like to do for fun and my hobbies.

  • Can you introduce yourself and tell me about your projects?
  • Describe a time you overcame a challenge.
  • What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
