First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Trane Technologies.
Account Manager
The recruiter gave me a call to screen me first. After that, I went to one of their local offices for an interview in person. It was a smooth process. The people who interviewed me were folks in the same role I was applying for, plus the direct supervisor.
- Prepare to answer questions using the STAR Method.
Account Manager
The interview process felt like a waste of time. I had a good initial interview with the hiring manager. Then I waited two weeks for a panel interview, where I realized the company wasn't a good fit for me, and I wasn't what they were looking for. I got a weird follow-up call two days later. I'd be hesitant to take this company seriously. The Eastern TN team seems bad at interviewing, and I lost confidence in working for them, which changed my mind during the panel interview. Research the company well and be cautious.
- In what ways would you contribute to the service aspect of the team?
Account Manager
They used the STAR behavioral interview format. It wasn't too hard, but I really hate it when companies use this format to screen people. It's a big turn off for experienced candidates. All it does is make people give rehearsed answers to basic questions. I answered them and then turned it around to get the info I needed to decide if I wanted the job. They were nice, but it wasn't a good fit. I didn't follow up and haven't heard back.
- Can you tell me about a time when something specific occurred and how you handled it?
