The whole process took ages and the communication was terrible. I always had to chase them to find out what was going on. They'd promise an update by a certain date, and then nothing, so I'd have to follow up. Every single time. They seemed unsure about what they were actually looking for in this role. It also felt like they wanted someone who would be super enthusiastic and beg for the job, even though the role itself wasn't clearly defined and they didn't seem excited about it either. They appeared to be more interested in finding someone who fit their existing mold or "culture" rather than someone who could help expand it. After more than a month of this, and several interviews, I finally got a "unfortunately..." email. What a waste of time. My advice: if they can't communicate well during the hiring process, don't expect it to improve once you're hired.

The interview process was great! It started with a recruiter call, followed by a hiring manager interview. Then there was a UX writing review or assignment, and the final round(s) included a panel with the team and a VP. Everyone was really nice. Even though I didn't get the job, the hiring manager was super friendly, and I had a good conversation with him. He gave me excellent feedback on why I wasn't selected and how I could improve. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience from what I saw, and I'd recommend working here. The people are lovely, and I wish them well.

The job posting lacked clarity on what they were really looking for. They wanted someone who could do both HR onboarding/offboarding tasks and work on servers and everything in between, which is a lot for the salary offered. Based on other reviews, it seems like a typical startup situation where the pay doesn't match the job responsibilities.

The interview process was detailed and thorough. Tradesy is very strategic with their interviews, bringing in multiple team members from different departments to ask questions about work ethic, culture fit, determination, thinking process, commitment level, and potential for growth within the company. It was definitely one of the toughest interviews I've been through, but also the most fulfilling.
