AI Intern
The interview process was pretty easy. Communication is very good (English required), they are attentive to the entire recruitment process, and they are flexible in case of any schedule change needed.
- Tell me about yourself
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
- What is the most fascinating thing you have done with an AI?
Product Manager
The interview process had 3 parts: first, an easy recruiter phone screen, then a video call with 2 people, and finally a third round with 2 senior managers. The first two rounds were nice and very welcoming. The third round felt a bit strange, the interviewers didn't ask many questions and ended the call 30 minutes early, saying this interview usually doesn't last the full hour. Again, no specific questions were asked, just really basic stuff. After 4 days, I received an automated rejection email.
- What is your approach to prioritizing tasks?
UI/UX Designer
Sounded like a great opportunity when I applied, almost six hours after I invested my time in a unreasonably long interview process, all I got was an impersonal rejection email. Despite reading how poorly managed TradeStation is on Glassdoor, I took the chance. I can confirm that the “leaders” have no idea what UX design is nor what they are looking for in a candidate. Phone interview with HR (1 hour) Phone interview with the Product Manager (1 hr 15mins) Fill out job application, wasn't enough to have a resume (15 mins) ‘WonderLick’ math/ reading test (30 mins..who does this anymore?) First face-to-face interview (1hr 15mins) Second face-to-face interview (1hr 45mins) I think companies need to respect the personal time of qualifying candidates. Had the interview come to a rejection earlier in the process, I can understand a quick rejection letter. But after almost six hours, I feel like I should send TradeStation a consultation bill. After all that, the company is still looking to fill that role, almost five months later. They clearly have no idea what or whom they are looking for. UX/ UI designers should avoid TradeStation or be willing to sacrifice a ton of their energy and personal time on a company that doesn’t respect theirs.
- Can you tell me about how UX was handled at your previous employer?
- What software did you use in your previous role?
- How would you approach challenges like managing stakeholders?
Software Engineer
A third-party headhunter set up a single interview for me. After getting the job description and agreeing to proceed, I had a pretty straightforward interview. It covered my past work experience, my technical skills, and included behavioral and team player questions. The second part involved coding challenges where I had to identify and fix issues in provided code snippets. After that, they gave me more details about the role and said the recruiter would follow up. The whole thing was about an hour long via Zoom.
- Can you explain the software development life cycle?
- Tell me about a situation where you had a disagreement with a colleague and how you resolved it.
- What's your approach to deploying code to a live production environment to ensure minimal negative impact on customers and reduce downtime?
