Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tractor Supply.
Sales Associate
I had a really good interview with Tractor Supply Company. The conversation was detailed but still felt nice and comfortable. The interviewer was upfront and honest about the job, what's expected, and the work atmosphere, which I appreciated. Overall, it was a very good and professional chat.
- Can you tell me about how you manage when you have several tasks to do at once and how you decide what to do first to keep everything on track?
Sales Associate
I saw that they were hiring for a new store in Paoli and they were having walk-in interviews. I drove down there (it's a 2 hour drive) and waited in line for about 2 hours. The person interviewing me was the new manager, who was really nice and chill. The interview went well and he said I'd hear back from him or his district supervisor within 2 weeks. I didn't, so I made another trip down there. They were busy setting up the store for its opening at the end of Jan. He remembered me and took my number, saying he or his supervisor would call within 2 weeks. Again, no response. So I applied online. I still haven't heard back. I'm going to try again though because I really want to work for this company and I think my experience makes me a great fit.
- What was the reason for leaving your previous employment?
Sales Associate
It was pretty straightforward. They asked me some general questions. They're really looking for candidates who have interests or experience in farming, equine, or similar areas. You know, the kind of things you'd expect for this type of role. Honestly, I'd say don't bother applying if you don't have this background, because they probably won't hire you. They want people who can really connect with their customers.
- Are you interested in or do you have any experience with farming or equine?
