First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TrackMaven.
Sales Development Representative
It's a multi-step interview process. First, there's a phone interview. Then, a mock call with the immediate manager. After that, an in-person interview with three different people from TrackMaven. This is followed by a reference check, and finally, an interview with the CEO. It's a challenging process, but that's expected for the high-caliber individuals they're looking to hire. Everyone I spoke with was friendly, knowledgeable, and very open about the role and the company. They were really clear about job duties, expectations, and potential challenges, even for my specific situation. They provided quick, constructive feedback, even on my interviewing itself. If things were different in my personal life, I would absolutely want to work here. The culture seems challenging but supportive. People are focused on getting things done without it feeling like a chore. You'll be working with very intelligent people who know their stuff, which will help you earn more in the short term and grow professionally in ways most other places won't offer. I was very happy with my experience with TrackMaven and their staff.
- What are some professional actions you do that I'm not going to like?
Sales Development Representative
The whole interview process for this role was extremely unprofessional. It started with an initial phone interview, then I was asked to travel to DC for another interview. TrackMaven didn't cover my travel expenses, which was a bad sign. I booked my flight and hotel, but then got an email saying they were pausing the SDR hiring because of 'management struggles.' I had to cancel my flight and couldn't get a refund for my hotel, which was really annoying. Just when I thought I was done with all the cancellations, they emailed me two days later saying they sorted out their internal problems and still wanted me to come for the interview. I rebooked my travel and went. I liked most of the people I met and the office was really nice. I sent follow-up emails and was told the head of HR would contact me by the following Wednesday. I waited and waited, but never heard back about an offer or rejection, even after sending more emails. It was a really frustrating and unprofessional experience overall.
- What drives you?
Sales Development Representative
I applied online. Then I got an email saying I was overqualified for an internship, but I clarified I was applying for a full-time sales position. They apologized for the error and sent my resume to the hiring manager. A few days later, I had a 30-minute phone interview with the hiring manager and HR. They went over the job, my experience, and the company. While waiting for a face-to-face interview, I saw a Tweet about an open house for sales development and decided to attend, letting the hiring manager know. She said she looked forward to seeing me there. However, the next day, I got an email saying they weren't moving forward with my application. Confused, I asked why, since I thought the hiring manager wanted to meet me. They then had another phone interview with me and explained I was "overqualified." I disagreed, but they had already made up their minds. I like the company and have followed them for a year. I think the process could have been more professional, especially not letting me attend the open house. Maybe they were intimidated by my experience, but I feel I could have been a great asset to their business.
