Sales
The interview process was easy and smooth. After I applied online, I received a call/email from a VP to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview was scheduled for the coming days. The phone interview was with that same VP and was essentially screening/fit questions. After the phone interview, we scheduled for an in-person interview. The in-person interview was great, it was with the same VP. They were pretty standard interview questions, and the interview was more a conversation. I was shown around the office, introduced to some professionals, and explained the specific duties/tasks I would be doing as an intern working directly with this respective VP. Although, I had no prior Saas sales experience, I had entrepreneurial experience, business/finance related internships, and business honors activities at my university. Every single employee brings something unique to the table. For an individual like myself, I loved the interview process/questions. I am extremely creative and I love challenges, so I was able to show my character/personality in the interview. I was given a call the next week by both the VP and Human Resources Manager, offering me the position.

Marketing
I applied for a marketing position and got a call within days. The recruiter was brief, asked some basic questions, and invited me for an in-person meeting in two weeks. During the in-person meeting, I waited 20 minutes past my scheduled time because someone was late. I was also informed that I wouldn't be able to meet with one of the four interviewers that day and would need to return for a follow-up meeting. In total, I met with three nice individuals who made me excited about the company. The meeting lasted over two hours, possibly due to scheduling issues. Because I had to leave, I apologized and was told it was fine and they'd be in touch to schedule the remaining meeting. I sent a thank-you and follow-up email the same day with no response. Despite multiple follow-ups over months, I never heard back. I'm unsure why I wasn't hired, possibly due to needing to leave early or being overqualified. I'm providing feedback hoping the company improves its process. It's advisable to inform candidates about delays and inform them about the expected duration of the interview. It's also crucial to respond to candidate inquiries, even if it's just to say the position has been filled.
- Why are you interested in marketing to marketers?
Customer Success Manager
It was one of the most thorough and fun processes I've done for a prospective employer. There was an initial phone screen, an exercise based on what I would be doing in the role, a presentation on my exercise, and two in person interviews. Everyone on the team, senior executives included, were incredibly flexible and understanding of my time constraints. I think what really helped me is that I was really excited about the job and I let them know that every chance that was appropriate. Everyone is really passionate about what they do and the company and it shows throughout the interview process. The interview process wasn't easy (the exercise does take some time and thought) and the in-person interviews were professional and at least one of them was behavioral. I did a fair amount of preparation (for cultural and behavioral type interviews) and felt adequately prepared.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a dissatisfied client and describe your approach to resolving the issue?
Customer Success
Applied online and interviewed at TrackMaven in Dec-Jan 2014. The interview process was fun and challenging. It included a phone screen, followed by an exercise where I had to create a report of insights from a customer account and present my findings to the team. Interview times were very flexible, even with me being in a different time zone. This was the top job on my list, so I was very enthusiastic. The employees there really love TrackMaven, so being excited about the company and position is a must. It wasn't easy, but I felt a connection with the company and everyone I interviewed with, which made it less stressful.
