First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Traba.
Software Engineer Intern
They wanted me to go to their headquarters for the last interview stage, but they didn't cover travel or housing costs. Then, the co-founder spent 30 minutes in my behavioral interview just going off on me for being 5 minutes late due to commuting in a new city. It felt really out of touch.
- Could you design a basic system for get, set, and delete operations?
Software Engineer
The interview process started with a phone screen that felt like a data structure exercise, pretty standard tech interview stuff. The engineers I spoke with were really nice and patient, which was a good change of pace, though I didn't get to chat with anyone who'd be considered a senior engineer. The phone screen and onsite felt pretty similar to what you'd find at bigger tech companies. There was one behavioral question that seemed to be probing if I was okay with working long hours, like 10-12 hour days. The recruiters and leadership are super enthusiastic, talking about becoming a trillion-dollar company, which is fun to hear, even if it's a bit much sometimes. Based on other reviews, the company culture might be rough, but your experience could differ.
- Write a function to tell you if a shift can accommodate a given worker at a specific point in time, based only on the historical data provided.
- What modeling choices would you consider for representing the number of experienced and new workers a shift can accommodate?
- Preprocess the data, including basic parsing and file ingestion, to determine shift requirements (total workers needed, new workers allowed) and worker-shift mappings (completed or pending shifts).
Software Engineer
This company had the quickest response time I've ever seen. They really seem to be on the ball and always ready to go, which is a nice change from being ignored so often. Everyone I talked to was great and super smart. They're also very open about their work ethic and culture, which is probably why they're growing so fast.
- What is your area of elite skill?
