First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Traba.

Got started with a recruiter screening that ended up being rescheduled twice for reasons they didn't get into. When we finally did connect, they immediately made it clear they wanted someone who would dedicate their whole life to the job, trying to sell 12-hour days and being in the office 5 days a week as good things. I decided to go ahead with the tech screening, even though I had doubts, which also got rescheduled once. The actual interview was pretty standard, though the interviewer was in a loud place, like a cafe. They then invited me for an in-person interview, which I turned down because the whole process felt like I'd just show up and be told to come back another day.
- What aspect of Traba's mission resonates with you the most, and could you explain why?

My interview experience with Traba was really bad, and I want to share it so others can decide if they want to waste their time there. The process was disorganized and took way too long. For an analyst role, I talked to more than 12 people, including the CEO and CTO, which was way too much. It made me wonder how they manage their time and why people work such long hours. If this is how interviews go, I can only imagine what the actual work is like. During the final stage prep call, the recruiter shared feedback from past candidates and mocked someone for looking out the window too much — not the kind of culture that earns respect. Throughout the interviews, everyone seemed really positive and enthusiastic on the surface, but they couldn't answer simple questions like What’s been the biggest challenge so far? or What’s the hardest part about working here? It felt like there was pressure to always be positive. One person even told me off the record that they can't really take days off. Then the CEO asked questions like “If you work here and a candidate asks you why people work so late, what would you say?” Instead of asking good questions, they focused on defending a culture of overwork. I wouldn't have accepted an offer anyway. The whole thing felt like a preview of what working there would be like — fake positivity, long hours, and bad leadership priorities. Hope this helps someone save their time.
- What's the bare minimum you need to earn to get by?

This was my most bizarre interview experience. I saw some red flags before I even got on the recruiter screening call. The recruiter I spoke to grilled me about the culture, asking me if I was ready to step up and work 9-9 Monday to Thursday, in office, every day. I suppose it’s fair to warn me about the “culture”. But then he also grilled me about what would make me choose Traba over other startups. I felt like I was being interviewed, and more like I was being hazed to see if I could join the “cult” of Traba. In the end, the recruiter told me so listen to a podcast with the CEO / founder. I glanced at it during the interview and knew it was a massive waste of time. The podcast was pretty self-aggrandizing tech bro hustle culture weirdness. The recruiter decided I was a good fit for the next round, but I declined and said no thank you. Honestly, this seems like a super weird place to work. This same recruiter posted on LinkedIn about getting a tattoo with four commas and the company logo, claiming everyone was super onboard for a trillion dollar valuation. Just bizarre. Steer clear.
