I first connected with a recruiter, then had a Zoom/Teams interview with the hiring manager. After that, I went in person for a second interview with three people from different departments that work with this role. They ended up hiring an internal contractor for the job.

This was a really strange interview process. I felt like I was the most qualified person for the job. The first step was a recruiter call. She asked if I had any questions, so I asked about the team: 1. How does this specific team fit into the larger teams? 2. How many people are on this team? 3. If there are multiple associates on the same team, what makes their roles different, like is one more data-focused? The recruiter couldn't answer these, got flustered, and a bit snarky. I didn't move to the next round, which I think was a mistake because the team missed out on a good candidate just because I asked good questions!

I had a 1st round phone screen with the recruiter. Then, for the 2nd round, they flew me to DFW for an in-person interview. I met with two hiring managers and several people I'd be working with. Each interview was 30 minutes, back-to-back in a conference room. The whole thing took about 3-4 hours. Their office is conveniently located right in downtown Fort Worth.
