So I read about Toys R Us interviews and it was a group interview. There were 5 of us and we all had to introduce ourselves, talk about our work background and skill sets. Then we had a team building activity where we built Legos. After that, each of us talked about the toy we made. Then, we had to pick a toy from a section and try to sell it to the group. It was important to listen to the HR or store manager for hints, like about batteries or their rewards program, which we should use in our sales pitch. After that, they chose who they wanted to move forward with for a one on one interview. During the one on one, they asked me a couple questions and then offered me the job right there.

The interview was super fast and effective. We all got together with other folks applying and had to build something with Legos. After that, we each did our own minute-long commercial to sell ourselves. Then, they pulled us aside individually and asked why we wanted to work there.

I applied online for the Back of the House Team Member role. It was the typical retail application, with a multiple-choice test at the end. About two days later, I got a call for an in-store interview. The interview itself was a bit unusual, as you might expect from a big toy store. It was a group interview where we first had to pick a toy that represented our personality. Then, we had to make and perform a commercial for that toy. After that, we paired up with another person to create and act out a commercial featuring both of our chosen toys. I was offered the job right after the interview.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • How would you combine your chosen toy with someone else's to create a sales pitch, especially if the items were unrelated?
