Behavioral Presentation

The interview process involved an initial chat with the hiring manager, who is a director, followed by a meeting with the VP of Marketing. I got the offer pretty quickly after that. It was a pretty standard interview setup, nothing out of the ordinary compared to other places. The HR team was really easy to work with, and the whole experience was smooth sailing.

The interview process seemed like it was created right then and there. I never got called back and was left wondering about the opportunity. There was no follow through with actions. It says a lot when someone says they'll let you know and then nothing happens.

The hiring process was quick, with two steps. First, I had a one-on-one chat in the store with the manager about my availability, customer service skills, and teamwork abilities. Then, there was a short practical test to see how I'd handle things on the job. Everyone was really friendly and made me feel welcome, even though it was a professional setting.

I applied online and got a call 2-4 days after the job posting. I had to call them back because I missed their call as I wasn't available during the weekend. Before the interview, I researched their Canadian and US websites, and Wikipedia to learn about the company. I also looked through the GlassDoor interview sections to understand what to expect. I wrote down the toughest questions and practiced answering them using my own knowledge. You don't need to memorize everything, just know generally what you're going to say. I spoke to the main manager and scheduled my interview for Thursday. When I arrived 10 minutes early, I had to wait for the manager in charge of my 1-on-1 interview. I was the only one interviewing that day, and the manager was really nice and open. Considering the amount of research I did beforehand, the interview was quite easy. After we finished, she set up a training day for the following Thursday, which also went well. The staff were nice, and she was surprised I knew their mascot, Geoffrey the Giraffe, as apparently, not many people know it. I wouldn't have known this if I hadn't researched the company in advance. The rest of the questions I couldn't add were: -Do you have any questions for me? . What kind of training should I be expecting? . What is a typical day for a cashier? (I asked 2, as it seemed she expected me to ask 2 ><') - Why do you want to work in retail? . Because I realized at my previous job that I loved working with people. (You are a people person) - How do you feel about working for a long time in a single spot, won't you get bored? . Like I had say about my previous job, I love to work with people. Although I had to take care of the customers coats in the locker room, I liked to chat with the people that came to put their stuff. (You find fun about discussing with the costumers, so its never boring) -How long do you want to work here? . I'm free, my schedule is empty and I'm not a student for the time being. I want to work full time. (Part time / Full time, for the longest possible) -What do you see in a leader? . In a leader, I see someone who is like a friend but also someone who can bring me back on the right path when troubles arise. (A kind and open leader who is also serious when the situation called for it)
