Software Engineer
After a recruiter reached out, I was sent an online timed coding assessment and online questions to record myself answering. Then, I got an invite for a video conference interview with a hiring manager and two engineers from a different team. The hiring manager didn't show up, and the two engineers seemed a bit lost but they interviewed me anyway.
- They asked about OOP, a simple system design question, and a few other things I don't remember now. It felt like they were grasping for questions to ask since they seemed unprepared.
Senior Software Engineer
So, there were 3 interviews in total. 1 was online and the other 2 were in person. The online one was all about coding and Angular stuff. The onsite ones involved talking about system design, some behavioral stuff, and then really digging into frontend architecture, how to make things faster, and solving real problems. They seemed professional and cared about how technical I was and if I'd fit in.
- Can Angular be used to restrict user access to specific pages, and if so, what's the method to implement that?
Technical Lead
The last 25 minutes of the interview was a really deep dive into optimization using the latest tech, asking about the exact number of objects used. I had zero time to ask questions. I think my brain was picked because the interviewer didn't seem to have hands-on knowledge and wanted a quick answer without doing the work himself.
- Regarding object creation, how many levels did you use, was it performant, and at what number of objects does it stop performing well? What's the optimal number of objects for it to work?
- How many levels have you used to create your objects and was it performant and at what number of objects does it cease to perform? What is the best number of objects to use to make it work?
