Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Townsquare Interactive.
Digital Marketing Specialist
There were three interviews in total. First, I had one with the head of each department, then a final one with the head VP. It was pretty straightforward and the questions weren't too difficult. Typically, a three-stage interview process involves an initial screening to check resumes and maybe a quick call, followed by a more in-depth interview focusing on skills and fit, which might include behavioral questions or technical tests. The last part is where the hiring team looks at all the feedback and decides on the best candidate.
- Can you share details about your past work and explain why you believe it makes you a strong candidate for this position?
Digital Marketing Specialist
I started with a phone interview that lasted about an hour. The recruiter was great and really wanted to learn about me. Then, I had an in-person interview with two managers. They asked the same questions about my background and schooling. I could tell they both really enjoyed their jobs at Townsquare. About an hour after that, I got an email to schedule the next interview. My recruiter called to see how I was feeling about everything. The next day, I had my final interview with the lead manager for the DMS department. He asked about my current role and why I was interested in Townsquare. The trainer for the DMS department was also there and talked about the training. They said it would take a few days to hear back. My recruiter called me back in less than an hour and a half to offer me the job.
- Can you share an instance where you managed a challenging customer interaction?
Digital Marketing Specialist
It was a typical two-part interview process. I first spoke with a team lead, and then with a manager. During the interviews, I got the vibe that neither of them really wanted to be there. They both seemed uninterested in their jobs and acted offended when I asked them why they'd stayed at Townsquare for so many years. The worst part was when I first got there and had to wait in the lobby. After I checked in with the receptionist, I sat down to complete a form. While I was doing that, a client called, and the receptionist wasn't there, so their angry voicemail was played on speakerphone for everyone in the lobby to hear. The client was upset about their subscription not being canceled after multiple attempts and was tired of being lied to.
