Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TotalEnergies.
Site Engineer
It was a bad experience. We had a first interview in late February. Although they seemed friendly at first, they later turned out to demand many things from their future employee, expressed with a bad attitude and even a little offensive. I did not like it at all. Moreover, they never informed me about being disqualified from the interview process (nor other candidates). I found out that they have moved on with recruiting someone for the role in July. Very bad communication.
- What is the most suitable salary for this position?
Maintenance Engineer
The interview panel, consisting of three individuals, was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. The interview was mostly semi-structured, with questions coming from all three interviewers. They asked a mix of personal, HR, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) related questions, as well as some specific technical ones. The questions varied in difficulty, from easy to quite hard, but overall it was manageable. The interview went on for a bit less than two hours, largely because I had a lot of questions to ask them. My first impression of the people and the company culture was really good, and I'm excited about starting the new job.
- Can you provide an example of your contribution to a group project?
Planning Engineer
A colleague asked me to submit my CV for the position. I was contacted almost 3 months after submitting my CV for an interview. The interview was conducted by three interviewers: the end user and his two higher managers. They didn't ask any theoretical or technical questions, only asking me to share my experiences in handling my work.
