Firmware Engineer
The interview had 5 rounds in total. Round 1 was C programming and aptitude, with 15 MCQs and 30 aptitude questions. Rounds 2, 3 were technical HR, and rounds 4, 5 were general HR. Round 2 was a 1-hour technical HR interview with questions and problem-solving. Round 3 lasted 1 hour and focused on technical questions and core concepts. Round 4 was general HR, asking about difficult situations.
- Can you tell me about C pointers?
- What about structures?
Senior Firmware Engineer
I had four in-person interviews scheduled, and I felt I answered all their questions well. However, they suddenly ended the interviews, using the excuse that the other interviewers were in meetings, and I had to leave. I had hoped they would reschedule the last two interviews, but I received a rejection letter just two days later. I've since learned that another experienced engineer went through the same thing there. It seems they're looking for younger, less expensive engineers they can control, which they feel they can't do with older engineers. It's definitely age discrimination!
- Could you write a routine to count the set bits in an integer?
Firmware Development Engineer
I had two technical interviews. The first one started with a discussion about my projects and strengths, followed by three puzzles. The second interview began with OOPS questions, but since my resume mentioned Java, they shifted the focus to C. I was asked about C concepts like 'volatile' and then had to write several C code snippets: implementing a linked list, counting set bits in a number, checking the k-th bit, and converting hexadecimal to binary.
- They were looking for strong C language skills.
