So they asked me stuff about the latest trends and my customer service experience! They also asked if I had experience with tills and gave me scenario questions like ‘if you had a customer wanting a size 8 top and you only had size 10 what would you do?’ and ‘You are on the tills with 2 other employees and the shop is quite quiet! A woman comes in and is looking at clothes but can’t find her size, what do you do?’. The interview was good and I got the job there and then!!

The interview process included 3 rounds. It started with an HR phone interview, then an in-store assistant manager interview, and the final interview was with the store manager. All the questions were pretty basic.

It was a pretty long interview process. First, we were put into a group of about 8 people, and only 1 or 2 would end up getting the job. We then had to do a group task where we had to sort a list of potential problems a Sales Assistant might face during the day and rank them by importance. After that, we had to go out onto the shop floor and pick an outfit for an event we were randomly assigned to. We only had about 10 minutes and a budget of around £50. I didn't get an offer in the end because they could only offer a 20-hour contract, which would be too difficult to manage alongside university.
