The first interview was with HR. The role's responsibilities seemed a bit unclear. TBI operates like a think tank and consulting firm, focusing on public sector consulting, though it's not explicitly stated. The interview was scheduled for an hour but started late and finished early. It was initially interviewer-led, with more detailed questions asked later. No case study was involved.

So, the interview was split into three parts. First, an HR call where we chatted about the job and my background. Then, I got a case study beforehand to work on. Finally, I had meetings with senior leaders where we discussed a case study, similar to a real project they were handling, and they really wanted to see how I thought strategically and communicated on the spot.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

So, first off there was a quick screening call with HR to check if I was a good fit and ask basic stuff like where I'm located and my status. Soon after, I got moved to the first interview round which was mainly competency-based questions. Then came a timed task for the second round, where I had to look at some operational data, come up with findings, and suggest ideas. The second round interview itself kicked off with me presenting this task, followed by interviewers asking me questions about my presentation, and it wrapped up with more competency-based questions.

The interview process started with a recruiter call that went well. They quickly set up a panel interview. After the panel, I was told I would hear back within a week. I had an offer from another company and needed to know my status here to decide. I followed up and was told there were delays because of summer holidays and they asked me to hold off on accepting the other offer. Five weeks later, I got an automated rejection email. I ended up accepting a higher-level position with better pay, but I felt it was disrespectful to be asked to delay another offer only to never hear back. Aside from the poor feedback and the automated rejection after a long interview process, I think the company would be okay to work for. Everyone was nice and responsive until the panel interview. However, I don't think the pay at TBI justifies this kind of candidate treatment.
