Data Engineer
The interview process had four stages: a Hackerrank test, an HR call, a user interview, and a manager interview. The HR and user interviews were online, while the manager interview was on-site. The HR part was really good, with an open discussion. The user interview was technical, but they provided guidance. The on-site manager interview was also technical, involving live coding, and it was pleasant. Each step took about a week, and I got updates via personal chat.
- SQL and Python problem (intermediate difficulty)
Data Engineer
The interview process started with a coding test on HackerRank. After that, I had an introductory HR interview. This was followed by three panel interviews. The first panel was with a Senior Data Engineer where we discussed my experience. The second panel was with a Lead Data Engineer, who clarified things from the first panel and we went over several data engineering problems. The third panel was with an Engineering Manager, and we had a broad discussion about data engineering problems. Finally, they made an offer.
- Can you explain how you would scale an RDBMS database?
- What approach would you take to process very large CSV files that exceed memory capacity, without relying on specialized tools?
Data Engineer
The whole thing took about 2 weeks. Started with a HackerRank test, then an HR chat, followed by some technical tests, and a system design test. Finally, they made an offer. Definitely gotta prep for this.
