First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Toffler Associates.

I had an initial phone screen with the recruiter who was nice and gave good info. It did take HR a bit to get back to me, which I saw others mention too. After that, the hiring manager (HM) scheduled a 30-min call and asked for my availability. A week went by with no word, even after I followed up, so I almost thought I'd been ghosted, but then I got what looked like an automated email confirming an interview for the next day with the HM. All their HR emails seem automated. When the HM called, they were at the airport and getting in line for a flight – not ideal for an interview. As expected, they were distracted and rushed the whole time, and we could barely hear each other over the airport noise and announcements. This was really off-putting; I took time off work to find a quiet place given the short notice, and they couldn't do the same? It didn't set a good tone. I didn't want to dismiss the company based on reviews, especially since their website showed interesting work, but the questions asked and our brief chat made me think the reviewers had a point. I kept my questions brief and ended the interview early. I got a generic rejection a few weeks later. It seemed like we weren't a good fit anyway. The HM had a great background, and I was really looking forward to it, but their interviewing and how they represented the company just wasn't as good.
- Could you tell me about the firm's values?
Consultant
I had a detailed phone interview first. Then, I went in person for a case study and behavioral interview focusing on client issues. It was formal but a good experience. The leaders were knowledgeable about clients and challenges, and very bright. They also shared their view of the world, which I liked. After the in-person part, I discussed compensation and the transition package with the operations team.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Associate
I applied to Toffler and heard back two months later, which felt a bit strange given they seem to hire for this role constantly. The first step was an HR phone screening, followed by an interview with a senior associate. The third interview got rescheduled, so it took almost 7 weeks from the first contact to the third interview. The interviews themselves were standard consulting and behavioral questions, but the interviewers seemed unfocused, checking their phones and losing their train of thought. I inquired about my status after getting other offers and was told they aren't hiring for another four months, which is ironic given their 'future-focused' branding. Despite the firm's focus, the hiring process felt very unprofessional and like a waste of my time.
- Can you share an instance where you successfully navigated a workplace challenge?
Associate Consultant
I had a phone interview with HR first, where they verified my work experience. Then I spoke with a program manager who asked detailed questions about my experience but didn't give much info about the client. After that, I had another interview with the project manager, and again, I got limited information about the job duties.
- Can you describe your experience working with federal government agencies and the Department of Defense?
