The whole interview process with Tock went smoothly and took about 2-3 weeks total. Every person I spoke with made sure to learn about my background and also get to know me a bit. It's easy for interviews to feel impersonal, but Tock's process felt really genuine. You could tell the interviewers liked working there and had good reasons for it.

Behavioral Technical Case

I was excited to interview at Tock because of their tech presence in Chicago. Initially, communication was okay, but there wasn't a clear point of contact, and I heard from 3 different people. The first two rounds were fine. Then, I spoke with someone from sales who spent most of the call complaining about the company's lack of processes and the difficulty in getting users to sign up, who then don't stick around. This made me question working there. I was told I'd hear about next steps, but I didn't. It was a struggle to get any information, and the communication was terrible. After reaching out to several people, I finally got an email saying they were pausing hiring and would keep my info. I probably wouldn't have taken the job anyway due to the chaotic experience.

I saw the Associate Account Manager job at Tock on LinkedIn and applied on their website. A recruiter from Tock contacted me about a week later, and we had an initial phone call the next day. After that, I had three 30-minute Zoom interviews with people from Tock, including managers, directors, and members of the account management team. The interviews were focused on my general background and skills, what I'm looking for in a company and role, and how I want to grow and be supported. It felt like they were genuinely interested in me, not just testing my ability to answer common questions. They were all very open and honest about their own experiences, both good and bad, at the company. It's clear they value passionate people with diverse backgrounds, rather than just a standard skill set.
