The interview questions were on point for the job and not too tough. But, the whole interview was a bummer because of bad communication. The interviewer was looking at graphs in a PowerPoint that I couldn't see, and I only figured this out halfway through. This made things confusing and harder to answer questions well. The interviewer seemed new to this and didn't check if I understood the questions, even when I asked for clarity. It felt unfair, and it gave me a look into how things might run at Tobii.

It started with a phone call from HR. Then I met the hiring manager, followed by a meeting with two team members. After that, I completed a problem-solving assessment and a personality test. Then, HR and the hiring manager reviewed the test results with me. Finally, there were reference checks. The interviewers were really nice and made me feel comfortable. The review session for the tests was particularly good; HR went over each section of the results and we discussed them. The hiring manager was also very attentive, taking notes, which I felt showed their genuine interest in understanding potential hires and their personalities. Even though I accepted another offer that better aligned with my career aspirations, Tobii would be a company I'd consider for future opportunities.

It was a 30-minute call with the recruiter, then two weeks later a 20-minute call with the regional director/hiring manager. After that, I met with a current sales consultant to ask questions about the job. They asked really broad questions, mostly about my comfort with quotas and car travel for work, no technical questions related to my clinical background. I was told I wouldn't hear back for about a month because the hiring manager was too busy to come to my state for an in-person interview. In the meantime, I could chat with the current sales consultant. During that meeting, they didn't ask me anything but said I asked good questions. I got a generic rejection email a week after that meeting with no explanation. I sent thank you notes after each interview and followed up after the rejection but never got a response. It felt like they thought I was a good fit because they let me talk to the current sales consultant for an hour and gave me positive feedback about my sales and clinical experience, without mentioning any issues. The whole thing was confusing and disappointing, with bad communication from the hiring manager.

A recruiter from a specific company reached out about this role. I decided to proceed, despite some reservations from a past experience with them. The interview process was quite long, but the meetings themselves were enjoyable and engaging. This particular recruitment agency seems to favor numerous meetings and an IQ test that didn't seem particularly relevant to the role, which felt more like a formality than a thorough assessment. The job itself was interesting, but the recruitment company wasn't able to finalize a concrete offer, so I opted out of further discussions.
