First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Toast Inc.
Account Manager
It took 3 weeks from when I first spoke with the recruiter until the final interview with the VP of Sales. The part that took the longest was getting ready for the presentation, but it was good because it helped me figure out if I actually wanted the job.
- What steps did you take to get ready for this interview?
Account Manager
The first interview was great - I spoke with a Recruiter and we had great chemistry. The second interview was terrible. The girl who interviewed me was really rude and just kind of flippant. She pressed me really hard on a couple questions, and not in a questioning way, but in a like a way where she didn't believe me? It was very strange I have never been in a situation like this - best interviews are where both parties are trying to figure out how the other operates and thinks. This was not that at all.
- What are your biggest weaknesses?
Territory Account Manager
First, I had a quick chat with the recruiter, who spoke really fast, which felt a bit transactional and not very natural. After that, I spoke with the district manager. He kept it pretty basic and emphasized the need to research the product thoroughly. The conversation stopped when he mentioned the role could require 80-hour weeks, with a base of 51k and an OTE over 100k, which seemed low for that kind of time commitment.
