Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TMF Group.
Compliance Officer
Had a call with HR and then two interview rounds with different team members. The interviewers came off as unfriendly and seemed uninterested in me, though they did ask about me. They were upfront about the role's drawbacks and issues in the department/company, maybe a little too much, like they were trying to put me off. Because of their transparency, I'm not interested anymore.
- Can you tell me three unique qualities that set you apart as a candidate?
- In your opinion, what are three aspects that make TMF a distinctive employer?
Compliance Associate
The interview was very easy and pleasant, an enjoyable conversation where we discussed how the work is done and what I can expect.
- What makes you a good candidate for this role?
Compliance Associate
HR emailed me after almost a week to schedule a phone interview. I replied ASAP but never heard back. The following week, I got a text asking when I could be interviewed again. She asked me to call around 8:00 that night (she called around 8:30). During the call, she asked about my background, then my language proficiency. She mentioned Mandarin was a prerequisite for the job and said she couldn't pass my resume to the hiring manager because I can't speak it, even though it wasn't listed in the job specs. What a joke.
- What motivates you to join this company?
- Could you tell me about your background?
- How proficient are you in languages?
