Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TK Elevator.
Sales Trainee
I met the recruiter at a college career fair. About a month after that, they reached out to me for a phone interview. A little while later, I was contacted for an in-person interview. The in-person interview was about 3 hours away from where I lived and only lasted 40 minutes. My first interview was with a man who didn't seem very familiar with the position and appeared to be making up questions as he went along. His questions were typical sales interview questions and it went well. Next, I was interviewed by a sales manager, a current sales trainee, and a sales representative. It was mostly about learning more about the position and them asking me more sales-focused questions. It was a really good experience to get insights from another sales trainee about the program. After I answered their questions, I asked them some questions about the company, the program, and what's expected for the position. A week later, I got a call with the job offer.
- Could you explain your interest in sales?
- Describe a situation where you delivered exceptional customer service.
- Can you share an experience of handling a challenging customer?
Sales Representative
I was contacted by a recruiter and then interviewed by the Regional Sales Manager, Steve. He seemed more interested in talking about himself than about the position, and showed little interest in my potential. I learned that I could be placed in 3 different territories, all in different states, and wouldn't know my assigned territory until after training. This made the experience very unpredictable, as I couldn't plan a future with the company without knowing where I'd live.
- Describe a time you disagreed with your manager and how you handled it.
Sales Representative
I had a two step interview process. They were not rushed and I was highly impressed by the executives.
- Which technique would you use in a hostile environment with a property manager? A, B, C, or D?
