I had a really hard time trying to schedule this interview. I played phone tag with the store hiring manager but couldn't get in touch. It's a weird and inefficient way for them to email you after you apply and tell you to contact the manager yourself to schedule the interview. Every other retailer I've worked for just calls or emails you directly to set up an interview, maybe this place is just too busy.

I applied online for the Overnight Stocker position at TJ Maxx and they called me to set up an interview. The interviewer was really nice and asked me standard questions, like what I thought good customer service was. She said I gave great answers and I mentioned I had open availability. We talked for about 35 minutes about teamwork, handling customer issues, and what I could bring to the job. I asked her some questions too, and she said she really liked me and would love to hire me, but she needed to wait for the other manager to check my references and review my application. I never heard back from them and they didn't contact my references. It felt kind of unprofessional to leave me hanging after making me hopeful.
