Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tinkoff Credit Systems Bank.
Analyst
The HR person initially asked me about my past work, the tools I've used, and my skills. Then, they threw some quick SQL questions at me, like 'yes-no' type questions or about the order of operations. It was a bit tough because the HR person wasn't super familiar with the topics and couldn't really clarify things when I needed it.
- Can you answer some 'yes-no' questions about SQL, specifically regarding the order of operations?
Analyst
It was a 5 stage interview process, all conducted over Zoom. It started with an HR screening, followed by a Technical Interview focused on analytics. Then there were 3 interviews with the linear managers and 1 interview with the department heads who oversee my area of focus for the job. After all that, I got to choose my team, my area of focus, and negotiate salary.
- Can you explain the normalization of data forms?
- Could you review statistical methods?
- Let's do a case study focusing on the usage of analytics.
Analyst
First, I had a zoom call with the team lead where we talked about my past experience in analytics. I also worked through some problem-solving cases. We discussed my current projects and the main tech stack the company uses for analytics. Second, there was a test on Python and SQL skills.
- Could you describe the tasks you've handled and the outcomes you've delivered in your prior roles?
- In your view, what are the most critical metrics for our business?
- Can you tell me about your experience in analytics?
