First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Time Inc..
Analyst
I was interviewed by a senior manager who rapidly asked me a series of questions. The last 5-10 minutes were about me, my hobbies, and a quick discussion of my past projects' scope and objectives. Following that, I had to wait two days to come to their office for another test and interviews with team leads and members. If I was selected, I would receive a call and an email.
- Can you explain basic accounting principles?
- Could you provide some general information?
Analyst
I found out about the interview through a job portal. A recruiting agency scheduled it, which I thought was great. The first part was an Excel Test with 4 segments: optional questions, using built-in functions, and pivot tables, all within 1 hour. It was good and required some awareness. The second part was a technical round, scheduled about 4 days later. The questions mostly focused on points from my resume. They then explained the work and the job role. They mentioned it wasn't the ideal position but I was selected for the next round anyway. The third part was a director round, starting with details about Analytics learning. The director said it's an entry-level job and advised me to think about it. The whole process took about a week.
- Tell me about your experience with MS Excel.
- Can you discuss your skills in analysis?
- Questions related to optional topics.
Analyst
The interview process involved four rounds. The first round was a group discussion where candidates had to discuss one of five given topics. The second round was an HR interview, focusing on general questions about yourself and your past work experience. The third round, with the Assistant Manager, covered accounting topics. Finally, the fourth round with the Senior Manager also focused on accounting questions.
