The interview was outdoors on a really hot day and I was clearly hot and starting to sweat, which threw me off. The interviewer gave me this weird look the whole time because I was sweating (I have hyperhydrosis). I usually nail interviews and my past experience was perfect for that role but she definitely ended the interview quickly and I never heard back, so I was bummed out.

I saw on the mall's website that the store was hiring, so I called the hiring manager to confirm the ad was correct. She said yes and told me to come in and apply. When I got to the store, I dropped off my resume and she gave me an application. The store had a great vibe, with sales staff who were busy helping customers and ready to help me too. The store manager seemed experienced and was really nice. I filled out the application and attached my resume. A few days later, the Store Manager called me for an interview. It went well; she knew a lot about the company and was clear about what she expected from her Assistant Manager. The next day, I got a call for an interview with the District Manager. I thought it would be tougher, but she made me feel comfortable and was also experienced. She also stressed that Tilly's has high expectations.

I applied online and a day or two later got a call from the district manager who set up an in-person interview for the next day. It was a really nice, easygoing conversation. He then asked me to come back in two hours when the store manager would be there. However, I knew I didn't want the position after he told me the pay was only a dollar above minimum wage, which was less than what I was making before.
