Talent Acquisition
I made it to the last stage of interviews, but the whole experience was a letdown. The interviewer was super cold and serious, not really connecting at all, making it feel like an interrogation. A big frustration was the total lack of transparency about important stuff, especially salary and pay. They didn't even share this crucial info at the final stage, which is essential to know upfront to avoid wasting time if it's a dealbreaker. The second round was also weird – they asked similar questions as the first round but with even less detail, so it felt repetitive and disorganized. Also, after I sent my updated resume to an HR person, they seemed careless and unprofessional, not really trying to grasp my latest experience. This lack of focus suggested they weren't putting much effort into finding the right person. Lastly, they want a contract signed through a third-party company, which seems unnecessary and makes me question their stability. I've heard that even if you get rehired, the resignation rate for this role at the company stays pretty low, which doesn't really make me feel confident about long-term career growth. Basically, the lack of clear information, the repetition, and the inattentive communication were disappointing, and I'd tell future candidates to be careful.

The hiring process was fast and simple, with 3 interview rounds. It took about 3 weeks from applying to getting the final decision. Everything was done quickly and they communicated well, making it easy and not stressful. It felt professional because it was fast and didn't have any pointless delays, which gave me a good impression overall.

Technical Recruiter
First, I had a quick 15-minute call with a recruiter to go over my experience. Then, I had a 30-minute video chat with the hiring manager for Tik Tok, where we really dug into my resume. I got to talk about my process and they seemed engaged. I also got to ask questions about the team and culture at the Tik Tok office in SJ. After that, I had another video call with a different manager on the team. They asked me specific questions about my resume and threw in some situational questions. They really wanted to know about my sourcing techniques, which felt a bit odd, like they were just trying to get that info. The conversation went okay, and they told me about what's next. But then they just ghosted me, probably because they use an external recruiting coordinator who doesn't always respond. It was pretty terrible.
