The interview process was pretty organized, a bit long but totally fine. They kept me in the loop and were quick to make decisions at each step. Overall, I'm happy with how it went. There were four stages in total.
- Can you tell me about your background and why you're interested in TikTok?
- Describe how you handle situations where you're under time pressure.
- We'll dive deeper into your expertise later in the process.

Had 3 rounds total. First was an HR call for about 30 mins where they asked usual stuff like why TikTok, why this role, and why I left my last job. Second round was a test focusing on traditional Chinese and English translation skills. Although the interviewer didn't seem super positive, I think it was objective and didn't require much interaction, so it was fine. The third round was with the team manager. Funny thing is, he said his camera wasn't working, but I kept mine on out of respect. I ended up facing my phone the whole time, unable to see him. He asked objective questions, like how to judge good/bad pictures (he showed some), and then subjective ones like what to do if I can't keep up, if I make a mistake, or if I disagree with the QA team. I tried my best despite not seeing him, but I failed. I guess my answers were too short and not what he wanted. I asked him two questions at the end, and his answers felt evasive. He also mentioned later that I could answer in Mandarin, even though he didn't have his camera on and felt my answers were too short and not in English. I think my objective answers were right, but maybe my subjective answers weren't confident enough. He also commented that the manager (male) is only patient with female subordinates, warning males applying for this role to be careful.
- What steps would you take if you made an error while reviewing videos or images?
- What is your approach if you have a different opinion from the QA team?
- How would you manage if you were unable to keep up with the pace of work due to frequent SOP changes?
Marketing Executive
The interview process typically involves a few steps: first, an initial screening, then a phone or video call. After that, there are in-person interviews which might have technical tests, behavioral questions, and panel discussions. Sometimes there are extra tests or reference checks too. They check your qualifications, skills, and how you fit the role and the company using technical, behavioral, and situational questions. The goal is to find the best person by really looking at what you can do and if you'd be a good fit for the company culture and what they need.
