I arrived and told the cashier I had an interview scheduled. She checked with the manager and then said he'd be out shortly, as Manager One was in the kitchen helping out and Manager Two was still on the way. They offered me a drink while I waited. Manager One came out and did about half the interview, asking really simple questions with no pressure. He said he liked my attitude and that Manager Two would be here to finish up, and then she arrived. She asked me some more detailed questions, but still nothing hard, mostly about pay and my availability. Both managers liked how I presented myself, and I was offered the job right then and there.

I had a phone screen, then an in-person interview that was confirmed by email. After that, I had an in-person interview with two HRBPs. I sent a thank you email and then got a benefits handbook and a link for a quick behavioral test. I reviewed the handbook and finished the test. I never heard back after that, and the job was reposted. I guess I didn't get the job.

The interview process was very thorough, almost like they were hiring for a CEO. It started with a one-hour phone interview, followed by a one-and-a-half-hour in-person interview. Then there was a third interview with the area supervisor. They also conducted a credit check, criminal background check, and a reference check, calling at least five references. Although I passed all these checks, the offer discussion fell through when I stated my salary requirements. They mentioned competitive salary, but my honest answer about what I needed to live comfortably seemed to change their excitement.

I had to do a test, studied for one day and passed it. The questions were simple. Then I had a 1 on 1 with the manager where he just talked about the responsibilities. He was really nice and I didn't feel intimidated. It lasted about 30 minutes. I had to get my own shirt and hat.
