First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TigerGraph.
Software Engineer
My interview process at TigerGraph started in April. First, I had to master their graph database tool and even got a certificate. Then in June, I had a group interview where I presented a video tutorial and an action plan for if I were hired, which they seemed happy with. A few days later, I was invited for a final interview with the CEO, which I was excited about because I'd spent months learning TigerGraph. But, the CEO interview got canceled and I had to interview with a new manager instead. Even though I thought that interview went well and I sent a thank you email, I didn't hear back for about a week. When I followed up, the manager said HR would contact me. I thought the process was almost done, but the next day I got an automatic rejection. I was surprised to get an auto-message after talking with people for so long. It seems like a really long process, and I think people should get feedback. Also, the hiring process structure wasn't clear at all, like why would one person schedule a CEO interview and then another person schedule a different one?
- Can you discuss your relevant experience based on your resume?
Software Engineer
The first part was a recruiter call, which seemed to go okay. I was then supposed to have a second interview with the hiring manager. The interviewer was really late, showing up 30 minutes after the scheduled time, saying they thought it was an hour later. It turned out to be a technical interview, and I wasn't told beforehand or prepared for it. Also, it was super hard to understand the interviewer, and the whole interview felt really awkward. Honestly, it was probably the worst interview experience I've ever had.
- Write code to print a counter where every 3rd number is 'Tiger', every 5th number is 'graph', and every 15th number is 'graph'.
- Calculate the sum of values in specific columns from a database table.
Software Engineer
So, there were three rounds of interviews. The first one was a system design question from the hiring manager. Then, the other two rounds were algorithm questions with the team. It was a pretty good experience overall. The people I spoke with were nice and explained things clearly, although the problems were a bit challenging.
- Tell me about a system design problem you faced.
- How would you approach this algorithm problem?
