Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TigerConnect.
Android Software Developer
After seeing the job posting on a campus career website, I applied to TigerText and was quickly set up for a phone screening. The screening was with a recruiter, and the questions focused on my resume and general Android experience, which I think went well. I was told I'd hear back in about two weeks about a second round with the Director of Operations. After two weeks with no word, I emailed the recruiter and got a reply about a week later saying other candidates were moved forward. It's disappointing I didn't advance given how easy the first round was, and I'm pretty annoyed by TigerText's lack of communication and transparency.
- Can you tell me how long you've been developing for Android?
- Have you published any applications?
- What are the download numbers for your published apps?
IOS Software Developer
I applied through my university's career fair and then got a call back for a phone interview a few weeks later. The phone interview was mainly about my resume and past experiences. About three weeks after that, I had an on-site technical interview. The first part of the on-site involved an iOS-specific interview, and then a Web Development Engineer joined to ask about my web development experience.
- Could you write a function that calculates the nth Fibonacci Number?
- Please provide a function to remove a node from a linked list.
Software Engineer
The interview process involved three interviews with HR, the Hire Manager, and a Staff Engineer. It moved pretty fast. I just wish companies would at least send a rejection email instead of ghosting, but I guess that's rare these days.
- General questions covering algorithms and data structures, similar to LeetCode problems.
