My interview at Tiger Analytics was great. The interviewer was really nice and made me feel comfortable, like we were just chatting. They asked about SQL, data engineering basics, and my projects. They seemed more interested in how I've used these skills in real situations than in super hard theory questions. It was a smooth, friendly, and comfortable interview overall. I liked their professional and kind approach.

Coding Technical Case Presentation

It was 6 rounds in total. The first was a phone screen, then an initial tech screen with coding and data engineering technical questions. The second tech screen focused on Azure cloud and scenario-based questions. The third tech screen covered AWS cloud and architecture, also scenario-based. This one was unexpected, I was told it was a 30-minute fit-check but it went for over an hour on a tech deep dive into AWS and architecture. They arranged this interview really fast, like an hour after I was asked, forcing me to take it ASAP. Then there was a technical discussion with the VP, followed by a role fit & alignment, interests and salary expectations talk with HR. I got an offer letter the same day, but the salary was much lower than expected. After some negotiation, we agreed on a small raise, and I signed. Since then, it's been 45 days with no contact and no joining letter, even after several follow-up emails.

The interview process was pretty good and moved along quickly at the start, with the initial and technical parts being very streamlined and fast. However, things really slowed down, like to a pathetic level, when it came to discussing salary and then waiting for the offer letter. Even after we negotiated salary, I still didn't get an offer letter for a whole month, even though I gave them all my documents right away. They selected me for the role, but then no offer letter came, so I lost all hope. It was the worst experience ever. Besides that whole offer letter mess, the rest of the process was fine. The company really needs to sort out that part. It makes no sense to pick someone and then not send them an offer.
