Security Officer
Networking is super important for this company, so it's helpful if you know someone there. My interview process was rough, involving 5 separate interviews with 5 different people. Not great!
- What are your long-term career aspirations with the company?
Security Officer
I saw an ad on Craigslist and they got back to me super fast. The HR person and the rest of the team seemed really happy there, like they genuinely cared about their employees. I landed the job after just one interview. They use a third-party for reference checks, and yup, they actually call the numbers you give them. They also need proof of your past employment. My HR contact was super thorough and wanted proof I worked at MetroOne before. It wasn't that they didn't believe me, just a paperwork thing. When my old company didn't reply to her, I had to go digging for an old W2 stub to show them.
- Can you describe a particularly challenging situation you faced in your previous role as a security officer?
Security Officer
I had an interview with the security supervisor and the store manager right at the store. It was about 45 minutes, and they focused on my skills and what I'd do in different situations. We started with introductions and a quick rundown of the job, then they asked me to talk about myself. After that, it was questions about my past experiences and hypothetical scenarios, like 'what if this happened, what would you do?'.
- What is your approach when you can't communicate with a customer because of language barriers (whether it's your native language, a second language, or theirs)?
