So I interviewed for the Software Engineer position at Tietoevry. The interview had two main parts: a technical interview and then HR stuff. The technical interview was pretty in-depth, lasting about an hour, and covered key areas like C#, OOPs, .NET Core, Angular, microservices, and Azure. They also had me do two coding challenges to test my logic and how I'd implement things practically. The person interviewing me was professional, and it felt like we were discussing real development tasks. The technical part seemed fair and thorough. What could be better is the communication after the interview. I was told feedback was being reviewed, but it dragged on longer than expected, and I didn't always get clear updates even when I followed up. From my experience and what I've heard, the technical interview is solid, but they can be slow with the final feedback and general communication. So, good on the technical side, but they need to speed up response times and be more open about things after the interview.

For experienced folks, Tietoevry usually does a few rounds of interviews. You'll likely face technical tests, talk to a hiring manager, and have a chat with HR. The whole thing can stretch over a few weeks. First up is usually an online test with some general ability questions and maybe pseudo-coding. Then come the technical interviews where they check your skills and how you solve problems, often with coding exercises and questions about system architecture. After that, you'll have a manager interview to see if you're a good fit for the team and company culture based on your background. Lastly, the HR round is where they'll cover pay, perks, and other details.

The hiring journey was really great, especially for today's standards. The recruiter was super professional, always there when I needed a chat, and I never had to wait long. They were really good with people, and I felt totally at ease talking to them. The technical interview was about an hour of talking about me, my past work, what I'm looking for, and, of course, checking my technical skills. I got feedback pretty fast, and the whole thing wrapped up in about a month. The only bummer was not seeing a salary range upfront in the ad, so I had to guess and even overstate what I wanted to see what the pay might be. This is how hiring should be, and the team genuinely tries hard to find someone who's easy to talk to and work with.
